Macbook air Thoughts?

On Wednesday 20th October Apple had a reletivly samm event which th had called "mac to mac" the showd off there upgrade of iPhoto and i Movie in there iLife 11 package. gave us hits of some of the new feature in there new OS upgrade which they calld Lion. At the end of the event Steve showed off there update to the Macbook air. 

 

 

 

I have said in the past that the Macbook Air was Apples version of a Netbook although it had a much lager screen size and specs. but it had no optic drive and a smaller HD. Now It has a little brother which is about the same size but is about 4 times as much cost of normal Net-books. Without going into much deltail on the hardware it seems that the product will be nice to use it Has a full size keyboard and a has the capebility to run high graphics prsses like Photoshop on bigger displays, for example the 27inch apple cinema display. But My question is who would by such of device. If someone wants a small netbook macheine they would buy a windows 7 netbook of 3rd of the price. if you Are an Apple fan boy the sencible option is the Apple standard macbook its the same pice has much better specs espiclly HD space. on the other end If you are one for just webservfin and dabberlin in wordproccessing the the iPad is perfect (especially when Pirnt sharing comes out later this year)

So in conclusion with the loads of option there is out there who will buy the product apart from the extreme Apple fan-boys who has more money then sense and GAdget reviews who must have the next best thing? I have been @iova and i'll tweet you later.   

Hospitals

The story I am about to tell you is about month old and was typed on my iPod will waithing in a hsopital. I have finally had time to edit it it and share it on my new blog.

the story starts with me haveing to have some teeth out, to do this I had to have general antithetic ( which puts peopleto sleep). I did try to go private but due to my hart ( long story ) the private dentist said it was a to great of risk to do the operation. Like I would drop dead at any moment. I felt like I was a ticking time bomb. Anyhow I had do the opp via the NHS ah the fun stats,  to sit for hours at a time triderling my thumbs with nothing to do.  The day goes like this...

Photoshop CS5 quick review

Hello all to another review. Hopefully this one is allot more in-depth.  Around this post is the some photos I have done including a Panorama (below) and two pictures made using HDR. I will do some tutorial on how to do some of theses feature in Photoshop in a later post.

Ok back to the blog post. The new features are primary directed to photographers for example the new and improved HDR which I will go on to later. As a person said to me “Photoshop was for photographers and if you are in to graphics illustrator is for you,” He went on to say that “some people use Photoshop for graphics because it is easier to use”. So on to the photography side to Photoshop, there are some really cool features. My most favourite one has to be “content aware”

Content aware if you don’t know already know it analyse the data stored on the picture about the camera setting e.g the lens, exposure, shutter speed etc. and analyses the pixels around the section you are going to fill in and reproduces the background without any fiddling editing. I suggest that If you are going to use this feature take the picture is the highest megapixel setting so there is more pixel for Photoshop to analyse (I use Raw which is uncompressed and sores allot more data in stuff like shadows or dark areas and highlights)

Another excellent is the new mask feature, I haven’t got to use this feature but it’s very clever. Let’s say you want to get rid of a tree using content aware, but first you have to select it. This is much harder to do with; the previous versions of Photoshop, without having still bits of the tree remaining or having a very large are selected. In CS5 you make a rough selection and make a mask and buy putting a black background and pressing some buttons (Now you know I haven’t used this yet) it creates a practically impossible selection which includes every leaf.

Another very useful feature is the new and improved merge to HDR pro. You have properly seen HDR photography without knowing it. This photo’s usually contain really vibrant colours and are jaw droppingly beautiful. If you want to see them just search HDR in Google.  To greater an HDR image you need at least 5 pictures of the same image but at different exposures (dark to light images) Then all you need to do is import them into Photoshop and it does all of it for you (aligning etc) change to one of the presets and you are done. Another cool feature in the HDR is the fact that Photoshop will remove the ghost images (moment that has happened it the several images you have used e.g wind moving the plants.

AS a final overview of Photoshop cs5 I can think that just for the content aware I would spend £1000 for it. There is more changes in the new Photoshop including a cool feature to blend colours together just like an artist and there are some new brushes as default including artist ones.
