Ok 2011 is upon us CES is tomorrow when I am writing this and we are all wondering if there will be a new iPad. Was up in my life well if you interested read on if not skip to the new paragraph. Well Charismas has been busy sadly no new tech to review but I might by some new USB for the podcast I do with a friend. I have exams, yet again, and a funeral to go to.
Well 2011 a start of the 3rd decade I have lived in. So With tech what do I think is the big thing? Well I think it will be the internet TV the device at the moment are ok but what the big thing that we need to happen is when content creators such as fox in America gives content to the hardware such as Google TV. In the Uk we have iPlayer which we can watch connected from most BBC programs for 7 days and both 4 and channel 5 have a similar service but not as good in my opinion. The are available on a PS3 which although is triple Apple TV at just under £300 you get a blu-ray player a gaming machine and content from all the main providers and Love film (UK version of Netflix) Also Companies such as Virgin have a catch up service with their TV package and so with media and internet providing content and PS£ a massive media entertainment box. so although a internet box will take off I don't think it will be as big of hit here. I on the other hand I love watch a few American netcast such as Digg nation Engadget and Twit for my Tech news. As they stream over the internet I would love to buy a cheap box (around £100) so that I can watch them on a big 32 inch TV.
I also think that 2010 was the year of the smart phone with popular Android device and the launch on Windows phone 7 but with the launch of the iPad and how popular it has become I think that 2011 will be the year of the tablets. This brigs me nicely on to CES. Which will probably be filled with Tables from major manufactures (except apple with iPad) so I am look forward to the tablet running android. Some will be running windows but as we all know about windows tables "slate pc" the OS is not really designed for the touch interface. Another thing in CES will be 3D TV Which unless used as a home cinema I think that 3D is a fad. Don't get me wrong I love 3d but I think in a average TV experience sitting with wired glasses watching a half hour episode of Easterners Does not appeal to me. This not including that the only people that are producing 3d content apart from films are sports. There are lots of interesting technology that will be there whish I am excited which I m not going to go into
Ok so that technology side if my life on too another thing I love Physics. Seeing that technology in physics will one day power the new device, gadget or servers I think that it is relevant. So Physics well again on the Day that I am writing this there was a partial eclipse of the sun (not relevant but interesting) so My thoughts on physics. I am looking forward of the discovers coming out of the Cern super collider it will still be a few years before they will discover the Higgs boson or (God like particle) but they are doing some amazing stuff. Also the improvement of quantum computing will be another area that could be interesting more probably on another post I think
There word on ITER a large experimental Fusion reactor. For people that don't no what fusion is. It is the power that is in every star in the universe including the sun. If we can get self sustaining funding we could have an unlimited source of power with out production Greenhouse Gasses.
So that is what I am looking forward in 2011 in the Physics and Technology. And I leave you for a few week as I am cramming for yet more exams there never stop. So What I will been doing?
Well I have the last year of My A-levels so in September I will be entering the wider world and going to university the course I will go into in another post.
